Gallons burned per hour of charter time. Lower is better. Idling and long runs burn fuel without adding charter hours, so they count against the captain.

Method: each charter's gallons and run hours come from the boat's engine telemetry during the charter window. Efficiency = gallons burned ÷ hours of charter time, so idling and long runs both count against the captain. Captains are ranked inside their boat's class — skiffs against skiffs, standard hulls against standard hulls — using each boat's type, with anything untyped counted as standard. Only charters whose boat reported engine data are included.
